Mrs. Rachel's First Grade class wrapped up their Knowledge unit and completed their first Maker-space Activity for the year! Their challenge was to choose a fable they have read and build a story cube with any materials they chose. They worked hard to retell the story using pictures! They did a fantastic job and were very creative!
Tonight we will celebrate our 8th grade HCN football players and cheerleaders at their last home game of the season. This talented group had had an awesome season. Please come out to Tiger Stadium tonight and support our Westover family. We are so proud of you all! Ceremony starts at 6:00, the game will follow.
2nd grade has been learning about Casey Jones and all about trains. Mrs. Hannah's brother is a real life train engineer! Her class got to do a virtual field trip via FaceTime to see a tour of a train engine and ask an engineer questions about the job! Technology can be a great resource for learning and exploring the real world! They asked great questions about the horn, the speed, the engine other aspects of the train. 🚂
Our next PTO meeting is this Monday night, September 23rd at 5:30 in the library. We will be working on plans for our Fall LA LA LA festival and discussing a few other things. See you all on Monday!
Officer Vineyard recently started DARE classes with our 5th graders. They are loving learning from our SRO. Thank you to all the SROs across Henderson County who are pouring into our students, and especially officer Brian Vineyard who makes Westover a great place to grow and learn! School Resource Officers are assets to all of our schools.
Monday night was 8th grade night and the last home game for our HCN girls soccer team. They ended the season on a high note winning their game 8-0. Congratulations to our 8th graders, Anniston Bland and Lyla Diffee, on a successful soccer season. Westover is always well represented on the field and we are so proud of all these girls.

The "Westover Singers" is for students who love music and love to sing! We will have several opportunities to perform throughout the year. This group will be an elite group representing our school throughout the community. Auditioning does not guarantee acceptance. Positions will be offered to students based on their audition AND teacher recommendations.

Our HCN Lady Tigers are the Northwest Tn Softball Champions. Congratulations! They went undefeated yesterday in tournament play-5-0. Way to go ladies!

Happy Grandparents's day to all of the special grandparents that help take care of, teach, and love our students! You all make life special. 🩵💛 We celebrated grandparents on Friday with a delicious lunch served by our incredible lunch ladies.
