Henderson County Schools 5 - 8 Teacher of the Year - Scott Bridges Henderson County Schools December 17, 2024 Henderson County Schools 5 - 8 Teacher of the Year - Scott Bridges - Scotts Hill Elementary School My name is Scott Bridges. I teach Social Studies in Grades 6, 7, and 8 at Scotts Hill Elementary School. This is my 12th year of teaching, all of which have been spent at Scotts Hill Elementary, where I attended. I graduated from Scotts Hill High School in 2009 and the University of Tennessee at Martin in 2012 earning a degree in Secondary Education with a History concentration. What I enjoy most about teaching Social Studies is the opportunity to help students understand history, government, and geography in a way that addresses misconceptions and prepares students for their future by gaining a better sense of the past. I want students to walk away from my classroom believing their time was not wasted because they learned something valuable and had fun doing so. I have been married for 14 incredible years to my best friend, Samantha, who I am now blessed to work alongside. We have two boys, Mack (4) and James (2), that keep us moving and laughing. I thank God for the many blessings he has given me.

Happy National Principals Month from the Henderson County School District! A big thank you to Mr. Leasure and all the amazing Henderson County School Principals who work hard and inspire our students daily. Your impact is truly important, and your dedication to creating a positive school environment makes a difference in many lives. #ThankAPrincipal #NationalPrincipalsMonth Mr. Danny Leasure has a rich educational background, having attended high school in Memphis and earned a BSE from Ouachita Baptist University, an MSE from Memphis State University, and a MED from Freed-Hardeman University, all while dedicating 38 years to education. His extensive experience includes roles as a teacher, coach, and various administrative positions at both elementary and high school levels. Guided by the Golden Rule, Mr. Leasure emphasizes treating others as you want to be treated in all aspects of his work.
