We are celebrating our School Resource Officers in Henderson County today. We are so thankful for each of you!
As part of Healthcare Day, the Henderson County Youth Leadership Group visited our local Health Department, HC Community Hospital, Wild Clarity Counseling, and Alexander Chiropractic where they talked about the value of quality healthcare in our community. To end the day, we were also able to visit with Senator Marsha Blackburn while she was in town.

The Henderson County School Counselors met with State Representative Brock Martin and Henderson County Director of Schools Danny Beecham this past Friday for National School Counseling Week to discuss the profession's guiding principles and upcoming legislation concerning school counseling.
Celebrating Carolyn Weatherford Hayes ~ "Hi! I am Carolyn Weatherford Hayes, and I am the county-wide special education counselor. I absolutely love my job. I love helping children who may need a little extra encouragement and need to learn social and study skills. I also love my grandkids and my cows! I’m a graduate of LHS, Union University with an elementary teaching degree, and the University of Memphis with a master's in elementary and secondary counseling. Before being hired by Henderson County Schools thirty-two years ago, I ran my own business and delivered mail. I am a partner in a cattle farm, a church pastor’s wife, and a grandmother. I’m busy!"
Celebrating Lori Maness at Scotts Hill High School ~ " Hi! I am married to Mark Maness and have three children: Chase, Marley, and Cy. I have a bachelor's in psychology, a master's in Curriculum and Instruction, and a +30 in School Counseling. I have worked in education since 2000. I spend my free time watching my children play sports. I played volleyball, softball, and basketball in high school. I also was a thrower in college and mainly competed in javelin. I am grateful for the opportunity to be at Scotts Hill High School. SHHS is a special place!"
Celebrating Warren Powers at South Haven Elementary School ~ "Hello! My name is Warren Powers. I am married to my wife of 20 years, Shonna Powers, and we have two children, JW and Izzy. Our family dog is Nash & we love him so much! I graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin. I have a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and a master's degree in education with an emphasis in mental health & school counseling. I have worked for the Henderson County School District for over 19 years and the last two years I have worked as a school counselor at my alma mater South Haven. I have trained in Karate and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu! I love to travel, and I loved surfing on my last trip. I love to try new foods and experience new things."

I am married to Jimmy Burroughs. We have one son, Dennis, and daughter-in-law, Anita; two grandchildren, Cortney and Jonathan; and one great-grandson, Finn Gregory. I am a graduate of Lexington High School. I have a bachelor's of science in education, a master's of science in counseling & personnel services, and a master's +45 in Educational Leadership. I have been a counselor for 30 years in Henderson County. I love working with the students at LHS."
Celebrating Haley Noles at Westover Elementary School ~ "Hi! My name is Haley Noles. I am happily married to my husband, Russell. We have three awesome boys, Spencer, Sawyer, and Carter. I love all things Jeeps, baseball, and the Tennessee Vols! I graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2016 and Union University in 2020. I have worked for the Henderson County School District for two years. My favorite color is black/leopard print. My favorite holiday is Christmas. I love all things chicken!"
Celebrating Teresa Nowell Peters at South Side Elementary School ~ " Hi, I am Teresa Nowell Peters, and I am married to Will. I have two sons, Alan and Jamie, and three granddaughters, Addison, Keira, and McKenna. I obtained a bachelor's degree in social work and a master's degree in school counseling with an added mental health component from the University of Tennessee at Martin. I have worked as a school counselor for the Henderson County School District for 14 years. My granddaughters keep me very busy traveling from state to state, watching them compete in cheerleading competitions and playing travel softball... enjoying every minute of it! I also enjoy reading and going to flea markets when I am not traveling with my granddaughters."
Celebrating Cindy Eason at Lexington High School ~ "My name is Cindy Eason, and I am married to Dan Eason, who was my kindergarten sweetheart. We have two sons, Dustin and Drake. I graduated from Lexington High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Lambuth College. I then earned my master's degree in school counseling from the University of Memphis. I worked as a social counselor and vocational rehabilitation counselor for the state of Tennessee for 12 years. I have since been a school counselor for the past 22 years. I love to travel, and a fun fact is that I saw Prince in concert. "
Celebrating Jonna White at Lexington High School ~ "I am Jonna White, and I graduated from Lexington High School in 2014. I am the co-cheer coach and student council sponsor at LHS. I love to read, go to the river, go on trips, and go shopping. I have a bachelor's in English and History and a master's in education in school counseling. I have been working in the Henderson County School District for four years. A fun fact about me is that I turned a bedroom in my house into a closet to house my clothes and shoes."
Celebrating Tolena Bomer at Westover Elementary School ~ "Hi, I am Tolena Bomer!! I am a second-year counselor with a love for mental health and advocacy. I am newly engaged to Darren Hart, who works at Lexington High School in the Ayer's Foundation Office. I have a passion for helping kids acknowledge and exceed their abilities. I have a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Tennessee at Martin and a master's in social work from Union University. I have two dogs, Luna and Willow. I enjoy couponing in my free time and am an LSU Tiger Football and basketball fan!"
Celebrating Brooklyn Dennison at Scotts Hill High School ~ "I am Brooklyn Dennison, and I am a 2015 graduate of Scotts Hill High School. I obtained my bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 2019, where I double majored in anthropology and sociology. I recently received my master's of education from the University of Tennessee at Martin. I previously was the Ayer's college retention coach at Jackson State and the college access counselor at Lexington High School. I am excited to be back at "the hill!" I love traveling, reading, listening to music, and meeting new people. A few of my favorite things are Dr. Pepper and Life Saver gummies!"
BRYANT NAMED INTERIM ATTENDANCE SUPERVISOR
Mr. Danny Beecham, Director of Henderson County Schools, proudly announces Mrs. Kimberly Bryant as the Interim Attendance Supervisor for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year. Mrs. Bryant has been in the Henderson County School District for 23 years, serving in various roles at Bargerton and South Haven Elementary Schools: PE Teacher, Girls and Boys Basketball Coach, and Librarian. She has worked as the Coordinated School Health Director at the central office for several years.
Mrs. Bryant is a Beaver Elementary School and a Lexington High School graduate. In 1999, she graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with her bachelor’s degree, from Bethel College in 2008 with her master’s degree, and again from Middle Tennessee State University in 2012 with a master’s in administration and supervision.
She has been married to Reggie Bryant for 24 years. They have one son, Devin. She is excited to unite her experience, her openness to learning, and her child-centered approach to support our students. “Let us always keep our students the primary focus of our work.”

I enjoy spending time with my daughter, Blakeley. I also love to be outdoors! I graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a bachelor's degree in social work. This is my first year at Scotts Hill Elementary School, and it is a great place to be!!"
Celebrating Mrs. Becky Cole at Pin Oak Elementary ~ "Hi, my name is Becky Cole! I am happily married to my husband, Jason. I have one son, CJ, and three bonus sons: Dalton, Cayson, and Braedon. I am an animal and plant lover with four precious fur babies and a home full of thriving plants. I graduated from the University of Memphis with a bachelor's degree in education and from the University of TN at Martin with a master's degree in school counseling. I have worked for the Henderson County School District for eight years. I enjoy traveling with my family and all things water... fishing, boating on the river, cruising to different islands, and swimming. Iced coffee is a must! I love shopping on Amazon, watching Netflix, and reading."
