Lexington High School gathered this afternoon to honor the bravery and sacrifice of veterans in our annual Veteran’s Day Program, hosted by the Renaissance Team and JROTC Program. Attendees enjoyed performances by the Beta Show Choir and Pride of Lexington Band. The program also included recognition of each branch of our military along with veterans that have received a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, or Silver Star. The JROTC Program directed the POW/MIA Table and observed a moment of silence for those that are no longer with us. The culmination of our program was our guest speaker, US Marshal Tyreece Miller, a Marine Veteran. Among many other life lessons shared, Marshal Miller spoke of the importance of education and how our choices today affect our future. The desire of LHS is that our students realize that today is about more than a “thank you” to veterans. Today, and every day, we have an opportunity to show our appreciation by living with integrity and purpose. To the veterans in our community, we say thank you for your service and commitment to our nation! We are deeply grateful for the freedoms that each of you have preserved for us and the legacy that you continue to inspire . We owe you our deepest respect and gratitude.
