Henderson County Schools - Celebrating Beaver School - Day 2
Beaver School was established on July 1, 1951. The property was located between two creeks. Little Beaver Creek was on the north side and Big Beaver Creek was on the South Side. This is where Beaver got its name.
Beaver has had several additions over the years:
In 1969/70, the school closed for an addition to the Cafeteria and Library, and the students attended Montgomery School that year. In 1971, there was an addition to the lower grades of four classrooms and restrooms. In 1982, the "New Gym" was added. In 1989/90, four classrooms and the back of the library were added. In 1998/99, they again added four more classrooms and restrooms to the upper grades. In 2013, a new office was added in addition to a conference room, nurse office, computer lab, and teacher's lounge.
Beaver School currently has 304 students!
