On Thursday night, November 21st, BGS recognized our 8th grade basketball players: Nolyn O'Daniel, Richard Wilson, Austin Mahaffey, Kendall Atkins, Gianna Paciorek and Addison Wood. These players shared their most memorable moments, offered advice to future players, and had the opportunity to thank their parents for their encouragement and support over the years. Bargerton School extends our best wishes to these 8th graders as they continue to excel in becoming awesome young leaders.

A special THANK YOU goes out to Mrs. Karissa White for enabling our families to experience the Henderson County STEAM Bus SIM-V. Our kids and families enjoyed the learning opportunities provided including making their own snow and flying paper airplanes with cellphones.

BGS is excited to begin dressing up for the holidays with our 15 Rebel Days of Christmas! Due to an internet outage, we were unable to send a paper copy home today. Dec.2 Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree: Dress like a tree, present, candy cane, etc.

The Henderson County Schools Substitute Training Workshop will be held on January 16th from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Watson Center! If you have any questions, please contact Stacey Valle at valle.stacey@hcschoolstn.org.

On November 21st, Bargerton will host a STEM/STEAM night in conjunction with our 8th-grade basketball event. We are excited to showcase the SIM-V (STEM in Motion-Vehicle) at our school and share our learning experiences with parents and the community. The STEM open house will begin at 4:00 PM, leading up to the basketball game at 5:30 PM. Additionally, we are pleased to announce that our Scholastic Book Fair will be open during this event. We invite you to join us and explore the innovative lessons and learning opportunities taking place!

Part 3- 7th graders have been working hard on plant and animal cell projects. Here are a few more pictures of the final projects.

Who says geology isn't fun??? 8th graders continue their units on rocks and their formation with a lab using starburst, pressure, and heat. Students documented their observations and the steps to ensure students reserved the best results. This is a great step to plate tectonics and the convection currents.

A #SophiaStrong shirt order form was sent home today with all students. This fundraiser begins today and will end Friday, November 22. All money (minus the shirt and print cost) will go directly to the family of BGS first grader Sophia Cox. Sophia was recently diagnosed with bone cancer in her leg and is currently receiving treatments at St. Jude. THANK YOU for helping one of our own and her family with expenses they are facing at this time.

7th graders continued their Cells Unit with Osmosis Experiment this week. Students put gummy bears in 3 beakers, 1 - salt water, 2 - water and 1 - control. Students gathered their measurements and observations to what happened and why it happened to all the bears.
Human systems coming soon!!
