Pre-registration for Kindergarten in the Henderson County School District will be Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Bargerton, Beaver, Pin Oak, Scotts Hill, South Haven, South Side and Westover Elementary Schools. All children who will be five (5) years old on or before August 15, 2025 are eligible to register for Kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year.
Requested documents to bring to your school on March 13, 2025:
● Proof of age such as Birth Certificate, other medical documents
● Social Security Card
● Proof of Immunizations on a Tennessee Certificate of Immunization form from the Health Department or a Physician’s office
● Copy of Physical Examination (within 1 calendar year)
● Two (2) Proofs of County Residence-E911 address (ex. electric bill, water bill, etc.)

Voluntary PreK (VPK) is an income-based program and priority will be given to those families that qualify. Completing the Henderson County PreK application packet does not guarantee enrollment in the PreK program. Non-income eligible students are placed on a waiting list once all paperwork is complete. Per the VPK grant guidelines, non-income eligible students will be notified mid-September informing them of their waitlist status.


We kicked off our Annual Cookie Dough Sale today! 100% of the profit made will be spent on student rewards. Students received packets this afternoon, and we are asking that each student sell 3 items by Monday, March 31, 2025. Delivery will be approximately 3.5 weeks later.



Over the past several weeks, 8th graders have been working on their PBL Earthquake Simulator Houses. Students were challenged to withstand an earthquake by building a house/structure from a select number of supplies. Check out their creations!!

BGS is excited to continue the Rockabilly Reader Incentive Program for PreK- 5th graders! Students are challenged to read (or be read to) for 20 minutes per day for 5 days each week during the next 5 weeks. The third and final reading challenge will begin Monday, March 10th and end on April 11th. All students who complete this reading challenge will receive a prize! Students completing all 3 reading challenges this school year will be able to attend a special field trip in May!!! Students will return these completed sheets to their teacher on April 14th.

I am thrilled to say we have PERFECT ATTENDANCE for our CASE testing today in grades 2-8! THANK YOU! We conclude our testing tomorrow with a morning and afternoon CASE test. We ask that your child is present and on time for our 8am test.

Spring Pictures, Class Pictures, K and 8th Grade Cap and Gown Pictures will be on Thursday, March 13th. Pre Order forms for class pictures will be sent home today. Order forms and payment are due on March 12th. If you have any questions please call the school.


Our Varsity Lady Rebels finished the season with a record of 11-1! We are super proud of each and every player as well as their amazing coaches!! Congratulations Lady Rebels!! Our Varsity Lady Rebels will play in the Varsity Tournament on Saturday morning at LHS. Please come out and support our team!
