Kindness is a virtue, and it is one of the essential things in life. It shows other people that you care about them and takes away some of the pain and suffering that they may be feeling. It can also help heal others, and everyone should always try to think about how their actions will affect others before taking them. Our homeroom teachers each nominated one student who had demonstrated kindness to their peers this week. Congratulations to these students! Designing and conducting experiments that demonstrate the relationship of electromagnets is just one of several standards within the electrical unit. Students continued their hands-on learning from yesterday with magnetism to creating electromagnets out of a battery, copper wire, iron nail and paperclips. They discussed and problem solved ways to make the nail more magnetic and how to fix issues of why it wasn't be magnetic.

This week, 7th Graders have been hard at work learning about classifying pure substances and mixtures as well as creating models of substances representing their states of matter (solid, liquid, gas). What a better way to learn than hands-on? We made Ice Cream in a Bag and discussed mixtures as well as liquid to solid change.
