Henderson County Schools 9-12 Teacher of the Year -

Jonce Lemmings - Lexington High School

My name is Jonce Lemmings. I am honored to be a teacher and part of the community at Lexington High School. I have the privilege to be the CTE Residential and Commercial Construction teacher. I am in my third year teaching and enjoy it every day.

I believe that what you do in life should have purpose, whether at work, home or in social activities. I strive in everything I do to invest and encourage those around me. Teaching has opened a new opportunity to motivate the next generation and I can see how, in this season of my journey, I can impact in places I can’t even imagine.

I have been happily married for 19 years to Amanda Lemmings who also is a teacher. She is a teacher at Bargerton Elementary, where she teaches third and fourth science and social studies. Without saying education is a big part of our lives. Our daughter Maddie is a senior at Lexington High School. Where she is involved in so much I can’t list but I believe she has made an impact at her time at LHS, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for her. When we are not chasing Maddie to the next event, we are members at Sand Ridge Baptist Church and truly enjoy serving and growing with our church family.

I would like to thank all the people who believed in me and gave me the opportunities to

succeed and pour into others.
