The Henderson County School District's LEAP (Learn and Earn Advancement Program), funded by the ISM (Integrated Schools Model Grant) and led by the Career Advisory Department, recently celebrated a highly successful Career Expo at the MAC Building of the First Baptist Church in Lexington, TN. Organized by Career Advisory Counselors Nicki Johnson from Lexington High School, Chase Qualls from Scotts Hill High School, and middle school counselors Grace Carter and Jessica Wallace, the event brought together 64 participants from 45 companies and organizations. Eighth and twelfth-grade students from all nine county schools attended and heard Superintendent Danny Beecham speak on the importance of being open to new career ideas and working hard to achieve their goals. Representatives from all 16 career clusters provided valuable insights, making this a powerful experience for students exploring future pathways. The event was further supported by Carroll County Bank and Trust and the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce, who generously sponsored lunch for all participants.
