DESCRIPTION:
The Scotts Hill Lion Pride Marching Band and Concert Band are some of the musical opportunities available at SHHS. Those who participate in this organization will have the opportunity to develop their musical skills, develop leadership skills, and exhibit teamwork as a band member or color guard member.
ACTIVITIES
Perform at all home Football & Basketball games
Perform in Veteran’s Day Parade
Perform in Christmas Parades
Christmas Concert
Concert Assessment
All West Honor Band
Murray State Quad State Honor Band Festival
Perform with the Jazz Band
Small ensembles, including, but not limited to, percussion ensemble
Other Concerts and performances throughout the school year
HOW DO I JOIN?
If you have any experiences playing a musical instrument or in color guard, we want you to join band. If you don’t have those experiences, here is what you can do:
Participate in color guard camp, percussion camp, and traditional band camp.
Sign up for instrumental music classes each year.
Email Mr. Ashby for specific details on how to join.
COSTS
(Participation costs may be offset by fundraisers, payment plans, and other financial assistance through the band booster association “Adopt a Lion” program.)
Band Camp fees = $175. Fees pay for music, new instruments, percussion and color guard staff, marching drill,
transportation, and uniforms each fall season.Honor Bands = TBA. Honor Band fees vary for each University and change periodically.
Instrument Rental = $50. This is for students who do not currently own an instrument and need to rent an instrument
from SHHS.
